taverham fita star (04/09/2010 13:06)

heyy,

finally got my hoyt contender elite :), shot it twice at 90m 316 and a 330!! but then went on holiday for 2 weeks and forgot how to shoot.

had the taverham fita star, very windy, shot the 3 doz at the fita before retiring with a pretty dodgy 70m, shot the second 720 sunday and only shot 4 1/2 dozen as had to stop due to it being dangerously windy, this placed me 11th for the head to heads monday. Started off ok in the head to heads beat ben humphreys 4-2 close match, then gradually got used to using my evolution in the hurricane weather and shot a litle better in the second match against stuart taylor won 7-3, in the semi finals against phil glover (also shooting back tension) luckily put in some descent arrows and won 7-1, finally i was up against james bingham in the final who fortunatley for me wasnt shooting great scores due to the wind had a close match but lost 6-4 all down to the last end 29-28 :( overall vey happy with 2nd place and im actually looking forwrad to indoors for once!!

Heya
haven't updated blog in ages due to a lot of technical difficulties and problems with my bow, hav finally got anothr new bow coming-HOYT! Contender elite, hopefully it'll be good

I had a shocking start to outdoors with no real descent scores :( but had the junior outdoor nationals last weekend where I shot a metric 1-quite well :) had a 1372, which is a new national record and placed me in first :) had 332, 346, 337, 357 so fairly pleased with the 60m and 30m, 70 and 50m were ok but could be a lot better,
looking forward to the next competition now

Senior indoors (28/02/2010 13:21)

Hiya
shot the senior indoor nationals Last weekend, shot a bad qualifier, only a 568, so a lot down from wot I wos after. This put me in the bottom half, and up against number 10, also shot badly in the h2h, 111-114 :( so out straight away.
Overall a bad day, but that's the end of indoors :)
now for some 70m , here's a pic of me shootin 70m in the cold

first round went pretty good, shot a 580 which put me in 2nd place as a senior- :(
second round went better, shot a 584, equal to the 1st place senior but unfortunately this was in the junior category so it didnt win me the senir category but still won me the juniors. :)

hiya

shot sherwoods fita 18m a few weeks ago,
shot really bad in bothy rounds, found out my sights 3rd axis was broken off, luckily liam was able to lend a hand and help me to repaor it after the first round. Still didnt shoot very well in the 2nd round but it was still better than the 1st one.
Also got some x10 stabilisers on the way and a new bow-conquest triumph, so im looking forward to them arriving.

junior indoor nationals 2009 (06/12/2009 19:01)

hiya

just shot the junior indoor nationals 2009, a bit out of condition though, very tired and sore shoulders. We travelled up friday night and shot the frist session. Had a few spectators visit, mel and kenny, who were down for training.
Didnt feel as though i shot very well, only managed a 582, at a portsmoth 3 spot face! pretty naff. Fortunately it was enough to get me first in the u16's, 2 points above 2nd and the overall junior indoor national champoin of 2009!
Good finish to 2009, now just waiting for my 2 trophies to come!
Next competition in 2010, gonna get my 580 fita 18m

fakenham fita 18 (06/12/2009 18:53)

hiya

had coaching with Liam friday before fakenham, found out my indoor arrows arent spined right, got sum nice new ones with big points. was able to shoot at Fitt Signs in norwich, good place to shoot. Thanks Fitt Signs for letting me shoot there.

On sunday shot fakenhams fita 18m first and last session. Field tested out the new B-Stinger long rod, couldnt get on with it and only managed to shoot a 568, a long way behind what i wanted. On the last session went back to my old ACE long rod, felt much nicer and shot a lot better, with a new pb of 579 which put me first for the u16's and my dad finished 3RD! not 4TH with a 553.
junior indoors next week, im gonna win

hiya

just shot mayflowers fita 18m. Shot even better than at hawkes last week and was really pleased with where i finished. i had a 577, 1 point more than last week and a new pb with 117,116,115,114,115 dozens, still nothing out of the gold :) Unfortunately it still didnt put me first but i still got 2nd place in the mens compound and only 4 points behind first and 9 in front of third.
Hopefully ill get my 580 soon.

new bow and first indoor competition (25/10/2009 09:12)

hiya

got my new bow last week whilst having a coaching session with liam, its a gold apex 7 really heavy bow but much steadier than the prestige. I needed it becuase my draw length is now 29 inches!

Went to the hawks fita 18m and h2h yesterday after having my apex for 6 days, shot incredibly well and had a new pb for the fita 18m with a 576! i had a 115, 114, 116, 115, 116 dozens with nothing out of the gold all day including the h2hs.
The h2hs went failry well i was placed 4th in the gents after the qualifiers and was against one of my team mates from utah who i beat even though he was up 2 points on me at half way, 113-111
Then i was against an even harder opponent who hadnt shot in 3 months but luckily i shot a 116 that won me the match to his 113.
In the semi finals i was against the number 1 seed who slammed in a 118:( trashing me as i only managed a 112:(
Finally in the bronze match i shot like a nugget again and just couldnt hit the ten until the last end where i got a 30 it was 112-114:(
Overall it was a very good weekend with 2 new pbs both the 576fita 18 and the 116h2h and i finished 4th in a senior competition :)
mayflower next week
